Making a Living, Sharing and Learning
How does Judy make a living? Well, Judy is currently an Instructional Coach, starting in the 2015-2016 school year, for the Capistrano Unified School District, serving two middle schools in that district. Prior to that, Judy taught English at Tesoro High School for four years.
So, Judy, you’re a blogger, huh?
Yes, I’m a blogger. I started my BlakeneyBits blog in 2015. I don’t get paid for blogging, nor do I advertise on my blog. I don’t believe in advertising on my blog or making money from what I write there because I’d rather keep my integrity. What I write on my blog is strictly for fun, playing with ideas, as well as exploring the intersection of education, technology, and instructional coaching. I do not receive payment for any of the blogs I write.
DISCLOSURES
Business ties: Not sure I have any. My husband is an attorney at a small law firm, Gordee, Nowicki, & Blakeney, LLC
Media ties: I don’t have any particular media ties.
Memberships/Affiliations: I belong to the following organizations:
Stocks: I do own stocks, however, my husband manages our stock portiolio, not me
Religion: Since I may write about spiritual matters, if only to highlight how much I fall short, I’ll confess that I’m a Christian who attends church (Saddleback Church) as often as I can in person, but attend online and digitally also.
Politics: In recent years, I’ve found myself voting Republican. There are a lot of issues, but I’m not going to jump into those now. If you have a question, drop me an email and maybe I’ll formulate an opinion.
